Vintage Turkish Runner Rug, 4 x 9.1 ft Rug, 122 x 278 cm

Woven in the orchards and high plains of Kırşehir roughly sixty years ago, this runner celebrates Anatolian geometry in a chain of stacked hexagons. Each honey-comb form is filled with “çengel” (hook) motifs—tiny double arrows believed to guard the weaver’s household—while the stepped ivory guard border echoes the crenellations of Seljuk caravanserais that dot the region.

The palette is both grounded and lively: muted peach, dusty olive and straw yellow meet deep charcoal outlines, producing a graphic rhythm that feels strikingly modern. Small talismanic figures float in the open ground, suggesting blessings for abundance and safe journeys.
