Vintage Turkish Runner Rug, 3 × 8.7 ft Rug, 93 × 263 cm

Hand-woven on the fertile Hotamış plain of Konya roughly sixty years ago, this runner is a botanical tapestry rendered in geometry. Three large nested hexagons bloom down the centre, each filled with tiny rosette motifs and framed by serrated “water” hooks that ensure life and abundance. A deep charcoal ground sets off brick red, saffron, pistachio and pale sky blue, while the narrow side fields sparkle with stylised blossoms and arrow talismans. The outer diamond border in orange and black completes the composition like a garden wall at dusk.
