Vintage Turkish Runner Rug, 3.4 × 12.11 ft, 104 × 395 cm

Woven in the upland villages of Kırşehir about sixty years ago, this long flat-weave runner sets a procession of eight serrated medallions against a warm rose-canyon ground. Each stepped lozenge is framed by saw-tooth “water” hooks for safeguarding the home, while small six-pointed rosettes fill the open field like desert stars. An inner border of brick red triangles suggests mountain ridges; the wide outer frame alternates stylised ram’s-horns and key motifs in olive, saffron and charcoal, echoing the geometry of Seljuk stonework found across Central Anatolia.

Hand-spun wool and vegetal dyes create gentle abrash: blush pink shifts to pomegranate, soft khaki melts into driftwood brown. The runner is supple yet durable—ideal for hallways, loft corridors or layered under a dining bench—offering a refined palette that blends easily with modern or bohemian interiors.
