Vintage Turkish Rug, 3.7 x 12.11 ft Rug, 110 x 395 cm

Hand-woven on the volcanic plains of Kayseri some sixty years ago, this striking runner unites sunrise pinks with charcoal silhouettes. A zig-zagging chain of diamond medallions anchors the rose field, their pale grey centres edged in saffron and onyx like lanterns glowing before dawn. Protective talismans and tiny “elibelinde” fertility motifs drift across the ground, while bright apricot side borders frame the composition with energy and balance.
