Vintage Turkish Rug, 3.6 × 7.4 ft Rug, 107 × 226 cm

Woven in the stone villages of Taşpınar roughly sixty years ago, this medium-size kilim showcases the region’s celebrated hexagonal medallions—each framed with flame-like hooks that ward off misfortune. Three stacked honeycomb forms anchor a plum-red field scattered with tiny “S” charms and serrated leaf motifs. A bold mustard-and-ivory guard border encloses the composition, while multicoloured outer bands hint at orchard greens, sunrise oranges and deep basalt blacks of the nearby volcanic slopes.
