From the heart of western Anatolia, this stunning vintage kilim represents the Yüncü weaving tradition of Balıkesir. Woven approximately 60–70 years ago, this rug is a vivid expression of rural Turkish symbolism and craftsmanship.
The central field bursts with geometric Yüncü motifs symbolizing fertility and protection, set against a powerful backdrop of deep red, midnight blue, olive green, and ivory. The angular S-shaped motifs, stepped lines, and rhythmic repeat patterns suggest movement and vitality—a classic hallmark of the Yüncü design philosophy.
