This vintage Turkish kilim was handwoven in Sivas, one of Central Anatolia’s most respected weaving centers. Woven during the 1970s–80s, this exceptional large-scale piece captures the vibrant harmony and deep symbolism of the region’s textile tradition.

Set on a rich crimson field, the kilim features rows of hooked medallions—symbols of protection and continuity—woven in earthy tones of camel, ochre, indigo, and ivory. The intricate floral border frames the design gracefully, embodying the unity and rhythm found in traditional Sivas weavings.

Each tone is achieved through natural root dyes, producing a nuanced color depth that has mellowed beautifully over decades. Hand-spun wool gives the texture a warm, soft feel and an authentic vintage sheen.
