This vintage Turkish kilim was handwoven in Malatya Akçadağ, a region famous for its radiant hues and rich geometric language. Created around the 1960s–70s, this long wool runner captures the energy and warmth of Anatolia’s sun-drenched landscape.

Design & Details
The piece features three large diamond medallions, each symbolizing protection and the continuity of life — a hallmark of Malatya’s tribal weaving tradition. Surrounding them, the smaller hexagonal and triangular motifs add rhythm and balance, creating a captivating mosaic of movement and meaning.

The color palette of burnt orange, saffron, deep plum, ivory, and walnut brown was achieved with natural vegetable dyes, resulting in a luminous harmony that speaks of authenticity and time. Its strong linear borders frame the composition with precision, enhancing its elegant tribal geometry.
