This vintage Turkish kilim was handwoven by Avşar tribes of Kayseri, Anatolia, during the 1960s–70s. It’s a magnificent example of Central Anatolian craftsmanship — a harmony of geometry, symbolism, and glowing earth tones that tell the story of nomadic life and tradition.

The pattern features repeating star-like medallions, symbols of protection and vitality, woven in an exquisite mix of amber, terracotta, pale pink, ivory, and dark brown. Each motif was created using natural vegetable dyes, producing an organic gradient that has mellowed beautifully with time.

The border, rich in traditional tribal symbolism, frames the piece with rhythmic precision. Hand-spun wool gives the texture a natural softness while maintaining exceptional durability.
