This vintage Turkish kilim was handwoven in Aydın, a region on the western coast of Turkey celebrated for its bright color palette and rhythmic geometric compositions. Woven approximately 60–70 years ago, this piece beautifully reflects the artisanal heritage of the Aegean.

Design & Craftsmanship
Featuring four large hexagonal medallions framed within intricate borders, the design creates a harmonious rhythm across the surface. Its palette — terracotta red, sunlit orange, lavender gray, and ivory — captures the essence of Aydın’s warm landscapes and natural pigments.
Each medallion symbolizes fertility and protection, while the zigzag outlines evoke the movement of coastal winds.

Handwoven with hand-spun wool and dyed with vegetable pigments, the kilim retains a soft texture and a timeless glow that only decades of careful preservation can achieve.
