This vintage Turkish kilim was handwoven in Afyon, a central-western Anatolian region famous for its warm color harmony and symbolic tribal motifs. Created around 50–60 years ago, this kilim beautifully bridges the traditional and the modern through its bold minimalism and vibrant tones.

Design & Craftsmanship
The deep burgundy red field forms a serene backdrop for a geometric medallion of protective bow-tie motifs — ancient symbols of unity and continuity. Surrounding this central composition, multicolored striped borders in yellow, lilac, orange, and green bring rhythm and life to the design.
Entirely made from hand-spun wool and dyed with natural vegetable pigments, this piece reflects the enduring artistry of Afyon’s weaving culture.
