These repeating forms are surrounded by decorative borders filled with small floral, geometric, and symbolic elements. What is a Yatak Halısı?

“Yatak Halısı” literally means “sleeping rug” or “bed rug” in Turkish. Traditionally, these rugs were woven with a relatively thick and warm wool pile and used in rural and nomadic households as part of the sleeping area. They could be laid on the floor to provide warmth and insulation beneath bedding, and in some communities they were also associated with the preparation and furnishing of sleeping spaces.
