About Tülü Rug & Original Yatak Halısı

Tülü refers to a traditional Anatolian high-pile weaving associated especially with Central Turkey, including the Konya region. These rugs were made with a thicker, longer wool pile than ordinary village carpets, creating additional softness, warmth, and insulation.

This piece is also an original “yatak halısı.” In Turkish, yatak means bed or sleeping place, while halı means rug/carpet. Traditionally, yatak halıları were practical household textiles valued for their warmth and cushioning.
