Vintage Central Anatolian Kilim Runner, 110 × 310 cm, 3.7 × 10.2 ft

Woven in the heart of Central Anatolia around the 1960s, this flat-weave kilim runner captures the timeless spirit of Turkey’s steppe villages. The deep charcoal field is punctuated by a row of bold medallions—each composed of ochre and blush hexagons framing a stylized “elibelinde” fertility motif—while narrow borders of gem-shaped lozenges and serrated stripes enclose the composition. Hand-spun sheep’s wool, locally dyed with madder, welds warm rust, saffron and graphite into a harmonious palette.
