This rare vintage kilim originates from the Barak region, located in the southeastern plains of Anatolia, where weaving is more than tradition—it is a form of coded storytelling passed through generations.

Woven approximately 60 to 70 years ago, this tribal rug reflects the strong and proud Barak heritage with its bold diamond patterns, zigzag motifs, and fiery color palette. Vivid purples, earthy greens, deep oranges, and sunflower yellows are all plant-dyed and carefully hand-knotted on a wool foundation.

These diamonds represent the eye motif, believed to protect from evil, while the flame-like zigzags symbolize energy, passion, and resilience—traits the Barak nomads valued deeply as they moved across the steppes.

The size of the rug is 108 x 158 cm, making it ideal for use as a statement piece in a hallway, entryway, or living area.
