Hand-woven by nomadic craftsmen in the Fethiye region of southwestern Turkey, this elongated kilim runner features a bold triptych of stepped-diamond medallions that cascade down its coral-washed field. Each diamond is outlined with a serrated “hook” motif in mustard and ink-black, symbolizing protection, while the interior zig-zag bands alternate between deep navy and sunlit gold, evoking mountain shadows and midday light. The narrow selvage stripes—woven in ivory, rust, and onyx—contain a rhythmic serration that anchors the energetic central motif. Worn to a gentle patina through decades of use, the rug displays subtle color variations and minor weaving irregularities that testify to its handmade authenticity.
