This vintage kilim hails from the Anamur-Mut region in southern Turkey, woven approximately 60–70 years ago by nomadic Turkmen women. The symmetrical "hourglass" motifs — a regional signature — symbolize femininity, fertility, and the passage of time. Warm earth tones like terracotta, burnt orange, deep burgundy, soft green, and muted lavender form rhythmic vertical bands, reflecting harmony with nature and tradition.
Each kilim from this region was more than just a textile; it was a form of silent storytelling. Likely created as part of a dowry or everyday use in a nomadic tent, this piece carries deep-rooted cultural symbols and history.
Perfect as a wall hanging, accent rug, or table cover, this small-size kilim is handwoven from natural wool and vegetable-dyed, making it both sustainable and full of character.
