This 60–70-year-old handwoven kilim comes from Akviran, a village in the heart of Konya’s vast Anatolian plains. With its vibrant hues—sunlit ochres, claret reds, moss greens, and deep blacks—it captures the raw beauty of steppe life and tribal expression.

The repeating motifs are more than decoration: they are stories. The hooked diamonds represent protection, the “elibelinde” forms honor fertility and womanhood, and arrow-like shapes suggest movement and migration—echoes of a nomadic soul anchored in a fixed land.
