This long and narrow handwoven kilim runner is a beautiful example of traditional Anatolian textile art, originating from the Konya region of Central Turkey. Crafted entirely from wool and dyed with natural pigments, the rug features horizontal tribal stripes in earthy tones such as orange, olive green, deep red, black, ivory, and violet, interwoven with small symbolic motifs.
Each stripe is decorated with motifs that carry meanings of fertility, protection, and prosperity—woven not just for function but with deep cultural intention. With a vibrant yet harmonious palette, this kilim brings authenticity, color, and history to hallways, entryways, or contemporary interiors.
It likely dates back 60 to 70 years and was originally created by Anatolian women for their dowries or home adornment.
